Comparision of CA 242, CA 72-4, MG 7 Ag, CA 19-9 and CEA in the Serodiagnosis of Gastric Cancer and Pancreatic Cancer
Lee Moo-Joo

Abstract
Gastric cancer is one of the most prevalent malignant tumor among Korean population. Serum tumor markers, including CA 72-4, CA 19-9 and carcinoembryronic antigen (CEA) have been widely used for diagnosis of gastric cancer and Pancreatic cancer. Since 1986, a series of monoclonal antibodies were studied in gastric cancer, designated as MG 7, using activated gastric cancer cells. Recently the clinical concerns are increased by reports that the level of CA 242 is high in serum of cancer patients. This study was perfonned for the purpose of investigating clinical value for CA 242, and MG 7 Ag for the diagnostic marker of gastric cancer and Pancreatic cancer. CA 72-4, CA 19-9 and CEA were also determined. For this study, 42(4ÀÌ 13) and 50 cases from gas¥òic cancer patients(Pancreatic cancer/Chronic Pancreatitis) and nonnal control samples were used. Enzyme immunoassay kits were used for detennination of CEA, CA 199 and MG7 Ag (Biocheck U.S.A), CA 242 and CA 72-4 (Centocor Co. U.S.A), respectively. The data of all 5 markers were increased in patient group compared with normal control group (p?0.05). Especially, a definite difference of
